I’ve spoken of both my affection for painted window trim and my disdain for accent walls; now that I’ve completed three different spaces all featuring painted windows of different colors, I’m ready to publicly make the call: painted window trim is the new accent wall.

Ask any reputable design professional, and they should agree that the accent wall is over (and has been for a while). I don’t like them for a variety of reasons, but I can understand wanting both neutral walls and an accent color. This is the answer.
