As a repeat bride in my 40s, I felt that the traditional wedding dress and veil wasn’t a good fit for me’.

When one of my very first fashion clients became engaged back in February, I knew this wouldn’t be a white dress affair. Of all the women I’ve worked with over the last 4 years, no one has embraced true fashion like Sandra, so when I first laid eyes on the mocha lace Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress (pictured), I knew it was perfect.

Outfitting a bride who opts out of the typical is incredibly fun, as a whole world of fabulous fashion is suddenly available. As a nod to the traditional, our search stayed within the color families of neutrals and metallics, while the silhouettes and styles encompassed any and everything: sequined blush with a 1920s inspiration, feminine and architectural in ivory by Lanvin, and the form fitting mocha lace that ultimately became the dress.

Accompanied by nude patent Brian Atwood wedges, raw diamond slice earrings by The Woods Fine Jewelry, and a yellow gold and diamond wedding band by Carla Morrison Fine Jewelry, every piece in her wedding outfit can be worn again, a fabulous bonus!

treeThis? This cute little tree that looks so pretty on your dresser and functions to hold and display your jewelry? This is THE DEVIL’S TREE! There are few things in the world of fashion and style that I make hard and fast rules about; capri pants are one, and jewelry trees are another.

What this innocuous looking piece promises to do (stylishly display jewelry) versus what it does in reality (tangles your pieces into a heaping mess of crap that takes hours to disentangle) is at the heart of the issue. And if you’re anything like my clients, you don’t have an extra 25 minutes in the morning to spend fighting with your jewelry tree.

Please exorcise this demon from your life. And in an upcoming post, I’ll show you a much better alternative.

As over 95% of my clients have children, discovering products that are functional and stylish for mamas is of high priority. Whether it’s a comfortable flat, a no-fuss scarf, or in this case, the supreme carry-all, if it makes a mom’s life easier or saves a few minutes in the morning, in the car, or in a store, it’s worth it.

Enter the MZ Wallace Metro Tote. This bag came across my style radar when a client asked my advice regarding color preference*, and when the bag arrived, I could totally see why it’s the rage among multi-tasking moms.

For starters, the large size option is truly LARGE and can hold all your stuff, your child’s stuff, and probably your child too! It’s collapsable for easy air travel, and comes with 3 matching pouches of different sizes to hold anything from diapers, to snacks, to your wallet. Additional attributes include multiple interior pockets and availablity in 3 different sizes. Oh! And the price! The price is right.

Mom tested, stylist approved.

*When possible, always go with Camo cause it’s awesome; black patent leather is a respectable 2nd choice.

I’ve posted about Lululemon before (one of the very first of this blog actually), but I’ve never endorsed a specific product. Until now. Because I am so in love with these pants I’ve added an extra day of Crossfit every week just so I can wear them more!

This pant (the Wunder Under) is made of ‘Luxtreme’, which is the softest, silkiest fabric I’ve ever felt in my life. Available in a bunch of super fun prints, the original Wunder Under is a low-rise style; if you want a little more coverage, grab the Roll Down option. You’ll never go back.

Would you believe that the most important purchase for this new season costs $5?

Whether you’re a good girl like me (who stores my winter sweaters in moth ball filled plastic bins) or a bad girl (who shoves them somewhere in the back of your closet), most sweaters need some TLC around this time of year. Enter the sweater comb. Simply, this cheap little plastic device allows old sweaters to look like new by removing all ‘pillage’ (the unsightly side-effect of wearing cashmere and wool). Many prefer the modern convenience of the electric fabric shaver, but this one (pictured) works the best.
